  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Coach

Belmont University head volleyball coach Katelyn Harrison has announced the addition of Kelsi Hobbs Quinn as a volunteer assistant coach for the Fall of 2021.

She joins the Bruins after a stint with VKKP Brno, playing in the top professional volleyball league in the Czech Republic.

“We’re really lucky to have Kelsi volunteer with us this year,” Harrison said. “She brings experience not only playing at a high level, but winning championships along the way. In addition, her experience playing abroad is invaluable. The diversity in training and style of play from the US to Europe allows her to bring another perspective into our gym. Additionally, she is a great resource for any of our players looking to continue their volleyball careers and play abroad after graduation.”

Prior to starting her professional career, Hobbs Quinn spent one season as a volunteer assistant coach at UAB, helping the Blazers to a 7-5 conference mark in C-USA play.

Before her time at UAB, Hobbs Quinn was a four-year standout at Samford University, where she was a team captain in 2019 while leading the Southern Conference in total kills (466) and kills per set (3.95). The right side was named the Southern Conference’s Player of the Year in 2019 and was the Most Outstanding Player at the 2019 Southern Conference Tournament. The senior captain also earned 2019 AVCA All-Region honorable mention.

During her four years, the native of Hoover, Alabama, led the Bulldogs to three NCAA Tournament appearances. She currently ranks fifth all time at Samford in career kills, with 1,341.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the Belmont staff and players and continue my coaching career,” Hobbs Quinn said. “I am excited to share my experiences and for this program to help me grow as well.”
