NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- The Belmont volleyball team will face
Campbell in a 6:30 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 15 in the Curb Event
Center.
The Bruins enter the match an even 2-2 in conference play and
currently sixth in the league standings. Campbell comes into the
match at 3-1 in Atlantic Sun Conference play and 8-12 on the
season. Belmont has a similar overall record at 8-13 overall. The
match has important conference connotations as the standings
remained crowded at the top, with only one win separating the
second and sixth place teams.
The meeting will be the first of the season and is the only
scheduled meeting between the two schools now that the Atlantic Sun
has returned to a single-round-robin regular season schedule. The
last time these two teams met was Nov. 14th in Nashville. Belmont
won that meeting, 3-0. The Bruins are 9-2 all time against Campbell
and have won the last nine consecutive meetings. This will be the
sixth meeting in Nashville. Belmont is 4-1 all time against
Campbell in Nashville and own a 4-0 mark in the Curb Event
Center.
For the first time all season, the Bruins will play only once
this week. Belmont will not play another match until Oct. 29th
after having a bye week next week. The Bruins will welcome
Jacksonville and North Florida for the final home matches of the
season on Oct. 29th and 30th. Belmont will face Jacksonville
Friday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Curb Event Center. The Bruins
will then take on North Florida in the season's final home match on
Saturday, Oct. 30th, at 2 p.m. in the Curb Event Center.
