Belmont Drops First Game Against Tennessee Tech

March 23, 2010

Final Stats

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Three days after Belmont won their third game of the season, The Bruins (3-20-0) gave up one big inning to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (11-15-0) to drop their first game of their Tuesday double header by a score of 10-0.

With one out in the bottom of the third inning, the Golden Eagles opened the floodgates by scoring ten runs.  A three run shot by junior Callie Schmidt highlighted the inning for the Golden Eagles.

The Bruins did not help themselves by recording three errors and four wild pitches in the inning.

Needing at least two runs to extend the game past the fifth inning, Belmont grounded into a double play to end the game.

Belmont will immediately turn around to play in the second game of their scheduled double header.
