HUNTINGTON, W. Va. - - Belmont men's basketball returns to action Monday night at Marshall.
The Bruins dropped a 66-61 decision Saturday at Miami (OH). The Bruins held Redhawk leading scorer Julian Mavunga to only two made field goals, but went just 6-for-21 from three-point distance. Belmont had two chances to tie or take the lead in the final two minutes after recovering from a 13-point second half deficit.
Marshall enters the game with a 7-2 record, with victories over Cincinnati and Iona among others. The Thundering Herd is currently ranked No. 34 by Jeff Sagarin.
Belmont sophomore J.J. Mann and Marshall senior Damier Pitts both attended Hargrave Military Academy.
This marks Belmont's first ever game in the state of West Virginia since becoming an NCAA Division I member institution in 1996-97.
