ATLANTA, Ga.---Belmont softball rallied late, but came up short against Bowling Green, falling 2-4 in the first game of the Springhill Suites Buckhead Classic hosted by Georgia Tech. The Bruins (5-12), scored two runs in the top of the fifth to cut the BGSU in half. Belmont will face Georgia State at 3 p.m. CST.
The Bruins left runners on second and third as the game ended and used nearly every available player in the game in an effort to complete the comeback. Bowling Green got on the scoreboard first, scoring two runs in the bottom of the second to take a 2-0 lead. They added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to build a 4-0 lead.
