DeLAND, Fla. – The Belmont men's tennis team fell to Stetson 5-2 in an Atlantic Sun Conference match held Saturday in DeLand, Florida.
Belmont picked up the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. At number one, Rodrigo Amaral and Rafael Matos beat Didrik Berg and Cesare Gallo 8-4. Then, at number two, Felipe Cirne Lima and Bruno Silva defeated Njal Stene and Chris Swanteson 8-6.
In singles, the Hatters stormed back, winning five of the six matches to clinch the match victory 5-2. The lone BU singles win came at number one as Rodrigo Amaral beat Maksim Levanovich 6-3, 6-1.
Belmont (0-8, 0-5) returns to the court next Friday as they host Jacksonville in a 1:00pm match at Centennial Sportsplex.
