NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team fell on the road to rival Lipscomb 4-3 in an Atlantic Sun Conference match held Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Bisons picked up the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. The lone Belmont win came at number two as Bruno Silva and Felipe Cirne Lima defeated David Salazar and Miguel Cortez 8-6.
In singles, the Bruins notched wins at the first three positions, but Lipscomb scored wins in the final three singles matches to clinch the 4-3 victory. At number one, junior Rodrigo Amaral defeated Oliver Strecker 6-3, 6-3. Then at number two, junior Rafael Matos beat David Salazar 7-5, 6-3, while at number three, sophomore Bruno Silva defeated Chad Pierron 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The men's tennis team finishes the season 1-14, 0-10 in the Atlantic Sun.
