CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – In their season opener, the Belmont men's tennis team fell to Austin Peay 5-2 in a non-conference match played indoors on Wednesday afternoon at the Governors Tennis Center in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Govs took the first point of the match as they swept all three doubles matches. In singles, APSU continued their strong play by capturing four of the six matches to clinch the 5-2 victory.
Belmont's two wins came at the numbers three and four singles positions. At number three, junior Renato Antun defeated Dimitar Ristovski 6-4, 6-3, while at number four, senior Rafael Matos beat Iago Seffrin 6-4, 6-3.
Belmont (0-1) returns to the court on Friday, February 10th as they play at Chattanooga.
