Belmont handed out 26 assists on 34 made field goals and limited the opposition to 29 percent shooting in defeating Kennesaw State, 90-50, Thursday night. Senior Scott Saunders recorded his fifth career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bruins have won three consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference regular season championships, and five in the past seven years.
Over its last 10 games, Belmont is averaging 87.8 points per game on 52.8 percent shooting, with six players averaging double figure scoring.
This marks the 26th meeting between Belmont and Mercer. The Bruins hold a 20-5 series lead, which includes victory earlier this season in Nashville.
