Men's Basketball Plays ETSU Friday in Atlantic Sun Tournament Semifinal

MACON, Ga. - - Belmont men's basketball plays ETSU Friday in the semifinal round of the 2012 Atlantic Sun Basketball Championships.

Junior Kerron Johnson (Huntsville, Ala.) scored 19 points and senior Scott Saunders (New Orleans, La.) scored 18 points as Belmont defeated Jacksonville, 76-62, in the quarterfinal round Wednesday.

During Wednesday's game, Saunders became the 12th Bruin of the NCAA era to go over 1,000 career points. Teammates Ian Clark (Memphis, Tenn.) and Mick Hedgepeth (Crossville, Ala.) reached the milestone earlier this season.

This marks the 23rd meeting between Belmont and ETSU. The Bruins hold a 14-8 series lead, which includes two victories this season.

Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. CT from the University Center in Macon, Ga. The live play-by-play of Voice of the Bruins Kevin Ingram can be heard on the Bruin Sports Network. The game will be broadcast live on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) and ASun.TV.
