NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After wrapping up final exams last week, the Belmont women's basketball team (3-7) will look to finish the month of December strong with a trip to the Show Me State. The Bruins face off at Missouri (9-1), their second SEC opponent in as many games, on Monday night.
Missouri enters Monday night's matchup sporting a 9-1 mark after winning its last two contests at home, including scoring a program high in points in its win over Bradley, 126-55.
The Tigers are led in scoring by Bri Kulas, who is averaging 17.3 points per outing. Jordan Frericks leads the team in rebounds, grabbing 7.8 per game.
This will be first-ever meeting between the programs.
Belmont will look to snap a three-game skid with its trip to the Show Me State, after falling to No. 16 Georgia in its only home contest in the month of December. The Bruins were led in scoring by freshman Lauren Thompson (Franklin, Tenn.) with 10 points, followed by junior Katie Carroll (Lilburn, Ga.), sophomore Blair Bryce (Red Oak, Texas), and redshirt freshman Frankie Joubran (Detroit, Mich.) with nine points each. Joubran also led the team with five rebounds.
BU is led in scoring by junior Jordyn Luffman (Lawrenceburg, Tenn.), who is averaging 14.1 points per outing. She also leads the team in rebounds, pulling down 7.5 per game, and steals with a total of 15. Classmate Adrienne Tarrence (Bowling Green, Ky.) leads the team in assists with a total of 38 while Bryce leads the Bruins in blocks with seven.
A pair of Bruins remain nationally ranked heading into this week's games – Luffman stands 38th in double doubles with a total of 4, 81st in free-throw percentage (86.5), 178th in rebounds per game (8.0), 230th in points per game (15.0) and 239th in field-goal percentage (42.1) while Tarrence is ranked 169th in assists per game (4.1).
