NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team picked up their second OVC win of the season as they beat Eastern Illinois 4-0 in a conference match played Friday in Nashville. The match was shortened to just singles play because the match was forced indoors due to rain.
In singles, the Bruins came out strong winning four matches in straight sets in clinch the 4-0 match win. At number two, Henrique Norbiato beat Warren Race 6-0, 6-3, then at number four, Bruno Silva defeated Rui Silva 6-3, 6-2. The BU lead increased to 3-0 when Navarro Veys beat David CVonstantinescu at number six 6-3, 6-2. Then, Belmont clinched the win when Fernando Mussolini won at number three over Robert Skolik 6-2, 6-4.
Belmont (3-11, 2-3) is back on the court tomorrow (Saturday) as they host SIU-Edwardsville at 10:00am at Centennial Sportsplex.
