Men's Tennis Falls at Bethune-Cookman 5-2

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Belmont men's tennis team fell to Bethune-Cookman 5-2 in a match played Friday in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Bruins picked up the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. At number one, Renato Antun and Henrique Norbiato defeated Seve Day and Juan Varon 8-5.  While at number three, Henrik Claesson and Bruno Silva beat Moritz Pronath and Gilbert Rotich 8-4. 

In singles play, Bethune-Cookman stormed back.  They captured five of the six singles matches to clinch the 5-2 victory over BU.  Belmont's lone win came at number five as freshman Navarro Veys beat Leonardo Lima 6-2, 6-2. 

The men's tennis team will be back in action next Satturday as they open OVC play on the road at Jacksonville State.
