NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In their season opener, the Belmont men's tennis team fell to #16 Vanderbilt 6-0 in a match held Sunday afternoon in Nashville.
The nationally-ranked Commodores won the first point of the match as they captured wins at #2 and #3 doubles.
In singles, Belmont fought back pushing the Commodores in every match. However, Vanderbilt turned out to be too strong as they posted wins at five of six positions. The match at #6 was unfinished since the result of the match had been determined.
Belmont (0-1) will be back in action next Saturday, January 25 as they travel to Illinois State.
