NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Belmont women's tennis team fell to rival Lipscomb 6-1 in a non-conference match played indoors Saturday night at the Whitworth Club in Nashville.
In doubles, the Bisons swept all three matches to earn the first point of the match. Later in singles, they continued their solid play by winning five of the six matches to clinch the victory over the Bruins.
Belmont's lone win came at number two as freshman Laura Van Eeckhoudt defeated Melissa Kromer in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Belmont (0-1) will be back in action on February 7 as they host North Alabama at Centennial Sportsplex in their home opener.
