NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball faces Southeast Missouri Thursday to open Ohio Valley Conference play.
The Bruins dropped a hard-fought 67-56 decision at Butler Dec. 28. Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) led balanced scoring with 11 points.
Senior Reece Chamberlain (Goodlettsville, Tenn.) ranks third in the nation in rebounds per game (7.0) among all point guards. Only BYU point guard Kyle Collinsworth and Eastern Washington point guard Drew Brandon average more rebounds per game.
Sophomore Taylor Barnette (Lexington, Ky.) leads the OVC in made three-point field goals, while sophomore Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) leads the OVC and ranks eighth nationally in field goal percentage.
11 different Belmont players have recorded new career-highs in scoring so far this season.
This marks the third meeting between Belmont and Southeast Missouri. The Bruins have won the previous two meetings.
