NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team swept Tennessee State 7-0 in the OVC opener for both teams in a match held Tuesday at the TSU Tennis Courts in Nashville.
The Bruins earned the first point of the match as they swept all three doubles matches. Henrik Claesson and Marko Lovrinovic won at number one over Kyle Burton and Joe Daniels 8-6, while at number two Mauricio Antun and Cedric Dujacquier beat Daniel Bernal and Branden McClain 8-1. The third match was won by BU by default.
In singles, Belmont swept all five matches contested in straight sets to clinch the 7-0 win and end the team's five match losing streak.
Belmont (3-8, 1-0) returns to the court on Saturday as they host Austin Peay on Saturday at 10:00am at Centennial Sportsplex.
