NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team fell to Austin Peay 4-2 in an OVC match held Saturday at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
The match was tied early as the Bruins won at number four as Nikki Maciel defeated Jovana Karac 7-6, 6-1, while APSU's Omella DiSalvo beat Sandra Kancheva 6-1, 6-1 at number one. BU went up 2-1 when Kendall Warren defeated Vanessa Tavares in three sets: 5-7, 6-3, and 6-0. However, the Lady Govs won three remaining singles matches to clinch the victory 4-2.
The doubles matches were not played since the result had been determined.
Belmont (2-5, 0-2) returns to the court tomorrow as they play at Murray State beginning at 10:00am.
