NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis won their fifth straight match as they defeated Eastern Kentucky 4-3 in an OVC match held Sunday at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
Belmont earned the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches. BU won at number one as Marko Lovrinovic and Mauricio Antun swept Daridge Saidi and Sebastian Mueller 8-0. Then at number two, Cedric Dujacquier and Henrik Claesson defeated Alex Alvaro and Florian Graskamp 8-6.
In singles, the Bruins posted victories at the first three positions to clinch the 4-3 win over the visiting Colonels. At number one, Mauricio Antun won his 11th match of the spring as he defeated Daridge Saidi 6-0, 6-3. Then at number two, Marko Lovrinovic beat Alex Alvaro 6-3, 6-3. Cedric Dujacquier clinched the win for BU as he won at number three over Juanjo De lLa Llera 6-4, 6-4. EKU won the remaining singles matches at positions four, five, and six.
Belmont (7-8, 5-0) will be back on the court on Saturday as they host Tennessee Tech at 10:00am at Wildwood Tennis Club in Brentwood.
