Men's Tennis Falls to Bethune-Cookman 4-2

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Belmont men's tennis team fell to Bethune-Cookman 4-2 in a non-conference match held Tuesday in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Wildcats earned the first point of the match as they won two of the three doubles matches.  The lone Belmont win came at number one as Mauricio Antun and Marko Lovrinovic beat Greg Almeida and Gilbert Rotich 8-2.

In singles, Bethune-Cookman posted wins at positions four, five, and six to clinch the match victory over the visitng Bruins.  The two singles wins for BU came at positions one and two.  At number one, Mauricio Antun defeated Walid Gtari 6-2, 6-1, while at number two; Marko Lovrinovic swept Gilbert Rotich in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.  The match at number three was not finished since the match result had been determined.

Belmont (2-5) returns to the court Wednesday as they play at Embry-Riddle.  The match is set for 2:30pm CT.
