JACKSONVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Softball dropped the series finale to Jacksonville State on Sunday as the Gamecocks once again shut out the Bruins as JSU picked up an 8-0 victory in five innings.
Jacksonville State (36-12, 20-4 OVC) scored seven runs in the first two innings as starting JSU pitcher Tiffany Harbin (16-6) held Belmont's bats silent the rest of the way. BU only notched a pair of hits on the contest.
JSU's offense was led by junior Sara Borders as the second baseman went 3-for-3 on the contest with one home run.
Belmont (12-32, 6-17 OVC) will return to action this Thursday, May 1, as the Bruins are set to host Middle Tennessee State for a doubleheader at Rose Park. First pitch between the two teams is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
