Austin Peay Game Notes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action at Austin Peay Saturday.

The Bruins dropped a 92-77 decision at Murray State Thursday. Sophomore Taylor Barnette (Lexington, Ky.) led Belmont with 19 points. The setback was the first time since Jan. 2010 that the Bruins dropped consecutive conference games.

Belmont head coach Rick Byrd and Austin Peay head coach Dave Loos are the deans of OVC coaching. Combining on 63 years of coaching and 1,170 career victories.

Belmont associate head coach Brian Ayers is a Clarksville, Tenn. native, who served on the Governors' coaching staff during the 1995-96 season while earning his master's degree.

Belmont's Craig Bradshaw leads the OVC in scoring and while Austin Peay's Chris Horton leads the league in rebounding.

This marks the 43rd meeting between Belmont and Austin Peay, 16th of the Bruins' NCAA era, and third in OVC play. Belmont won last season in Nashville.
