RICHMOND, Va. – The Belmont men's tennis team wrapped up play at the VCU 4-1 Invitational with a 3-2 victory over Richmond Saturday morning in Richmond, Virginia.
The Bruins won three of the four singles matches to clinch the match victory over the Spiders. Senior
Marko Lovrinovic won at number two over Jacob Dunbar 6-3, 6-3, while at number four, junior
Robin Demasse won in straight sets over Caleb Troy 6-1, 6-3. The victory was clinched for BU as sophomore
Cedric Dujacquier beat Alex Hahn in three sets: 3-6, 6-0, and 6-4.
The two wins by the Spiders came at number one singles and doubles. In singles, Ethan Dunbar beat senior
Mauricio Antun 6-4, 6-4, while in doubles, the duo of Canyon Teague and James Aronson beat BU team of freshman
Caio Niel and sophomore
Geoff Tulloch 6-1, 6-3.
Belmont (3-0) returns to the court tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon as they face #19 Vanderbilt at 4:30pm indoors at Vanderbilt's Currey Tennis Center.
