NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action at Tennessee State Sunday.
The Bruins defeated UT Martin, 72-67, Jan. 22. Sophomore Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) scored a team-high 22 points for the Bruins.
Former All-OVC players Ian Clark of Belmont and Robert Covington of Tennessee State are enjoying solid young careers in the NBA; Clark for the Utah Jazz and Covington for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Belmont and Tennessee State each played Middle Tennessee and Lipscomb in non-conference play.
Former Bruin point guard and current Columbia State head coach Brian Collins ('06) served as a graduate assistant and director of basketball operations at Tennessee State from 2007-09.
Belmont senior Reece Chamberlain (Goodlettsville, Tenn.) scored a career-high 19 points versus Tennessee State last season (2/13/14).
This marks the 23rd meeting between Belmont and Tennessee State, 12th of the Bruins' NCAA era, and sixth in OVC play. Belmont has won the last three meetings.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on American Sports Network and MyTV30.
