BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team fell to visiting Western Kentucky 5-2 in a non-conference match played Friday evening indoors at Brentwood Swim and Tennis Club in Brentwood, Tennessee.
The Lady Toppers took the early 1-0 lead as they captured wins at number two and three doubles. The match at number one was unfinished.
In singles, WKU posted wins at the first four positions to clinch the victory over the Bruins. Belmont's two wins came at number five and six singles. At number five, freshman Suzanna Stapler defeated Gabby Crofford in three sets: 7-6, 4-6, 10-7, while at six, junior Ann Lauren Fiepke beat Emily Przystawski 6-2, 6-3.
Belmont (0-3) will return to the court tomorrow (Saturday) night as they host ETSU at 6:00pm indoors at the Brentwood Swim and Tennis Club.
