NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont volleyball team (8-9, 5-1 OVC) plays two big matches this weekend at Murray State (16-1, 6-0 OVC) Friday at 7:00pm CT, and at Austin Peay (6-15, 1-5 OVC) Saturday at 1:00pm central time.
The Racers of Murray State have only one loss on the season to a nationally ranked Washington team. Murray is ranked fourth nationally in winning percentage with 0.941, fourth in kills per set averaging 14.64 and fourth in aces per set averaging 1.96.
The Governors of Austin Peay are 1-5 in conference and 6-15 overall. A notable victory for APSU was against Southern Mississippi at the Memphis Invitational during preseason.
Belmont is third in it conference when it comes to holding their opponents to a low hitting percentage, the Bruins have held their opponents to a .191 average, fourth in kills with 768 (11.29 p/s), third in kills with 838 (12.32 p/s), and second in aces with 120 (1.76 p/s).
In the Ohio Valley Conference sophomore Arianna Person (Lenexa, Kan.) is ranked fifth in kills with 252 (3.71 p/s), second in aces with 68 (0.47 p/s), and fifth in total points with 196.0 (4.35 p/s). Redshirt sophomore Emma Price (Fort Mill, SC) is ranked fourth in service aces with 26 (0.39 p/s) and third in assists with 646 (9.64 p/s). Sophomore Ellie Ivancich (Naperville, Ill.) is ranked ninth in aces with 23 (0.34 p/s).
