NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont Volleyball (14-13, 11-4 OVC) hits the road one last time for conference play to SIU-Edwardsville (7-18, 5-10 OVC).
Belmont has yet to face SIUE this season but with this being the final match of the season the Cougars are fighting for a spot in the tournament. Junior Mallory Mangun became the first SIUE volleyball player in seven years to record a triple-double; she also became the fifth SIU player to pass the 3,000 mark in assists and now stands at 3,076. Senior Kristen Torre is the ninth player in school history to record 1,000 kills with 1,222 total, she is also ranked No. 51 nationally in hitting percentage at .375.
In the last seven matches Jocelyn Youngdahl (Stillwater, Minn.) has recorded 74 kills and only seven errors on 164 attempts for an average of .414. This past weekend against Tennessee Tech Courtyln Ison (Ooltewah, Tenn.) recorded eight kills and only one error on 17 attempts for an average of .412.
Sophomore Arianna Person (Lenexa, Kan.) is ranked third in kills with 392 (3.92 p/s), second in aces with 41 (0.41 p/s), and third in total points with 452.0 (4.52 p/s). Sophomore Emma Price (Fort Mill, SC) is ranked fifth in service aces with 33 (0.34 p/s) and second in assists with 1000 (10.42 p/s). Sophomore Ellie Ivancich (Naperville, Ill.) is ranked ninth in aces with 32 (0.32 p/s).
The Ohio Valley Tournament starts on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Murray State who has clinched the first place seed; but the rest of seeds are yet to be determined.
