LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Belmont volleyball (17-4) will face off with Louisville (24-6) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Dec. 4 at 6:00 p.m. CT.
Belmont received an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Tournament after winning the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. In the quarterfinals Belmont defeated Morehead State in three straight sets, then went on to defeat Tennessee Tech in the semifinals in four sets paced by a 30 kill performance from sophomore Arianna Person (Lenexa, Kan.). Belmont faced a two-loss, regular season champion, Murray State in the finals where they defeated the Racers in four sets (20-25, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-16).
Belmont has been to the first round of the NCAA Tournament four times; 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2015; three of those appearances have been in Louisville. In 2006 the Bruins traveled north and faced Ohio State, 2012 the team traveled back and took Louisville to four sets and now in 2015 the Bruins will travel once again to Louisville face off with Louisville.
