NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball (15-9, 7-4 OVC) returns to game action Wednesday night at Jacksonville State.
Junior Craig Bradshsaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) scored 13 points in the final seven minutes Feb. 7 at Morehead State, but the Eagles won 73-71 on Miguel Dicent's bank shot with 4.9 seconds left.
Bradshaw was named Capital One Academic All-District last week, becoming the 17th Belmont men's basketball player so honored. He holds a 3.51 GPA.
Sophomore Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) continues to lead the nation in field goal percentage (.706). The 6-7 forward is shooting 78.3 percent in OVC games, and has scored in double figures in 17 of his last 18 games.
Belmont has several ties to the state of Alabama, as 2013 OVC Tournament MVP Kerron Johnson and assistant coach James Strong are natives of Huntsville, while director of basketball operations Tyler Holloway is a native of Decatur.
This marks the 11th meeting between Belmont and Jacksonville State, sixth in OVC play. Belmont and Jacksonville State met five times as Atlantic Sun Conference members from 2000-03.
The Bruins won Jan. 29 in Nashville.
