NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Saturday versus Morehead State.
The Bruins are back home for the first time since a 71-53 victory over Tennessee Tech Jan. 31.
Belmont (Ian Clark, Utah Jazz) and Morehead State (Kenneth Faried, Denver Nuggets) each have a former player currently in the NBA.
Belmont and Morehead State have each enjoyed postseason success in recent years. The Bruins reached the NCAA Tournament six of the last nine years while Morehead State won games in the NCAA Tournament in 2009 and 2011.
Belmont senior Reece Chamberlain was named finalist for the Senior CLASS Award this week. He becomes the fifth Belmont men's basketball player so honored. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their athletic platforms to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Belmont junior Craig Bradshaw was named Capital One Academic All-District last week. He becomes the 17th Belmont men's basketball player so honored. Bradshaw holds a 3.51 GPA.
This marks the seventh meeting between Belmont and Morehead State. The teams met last Saturday at Morehead, with the Eagles winning 73-71 on Miguel Dicent's bank shot with four seconds left.
