NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University returns to game action Saturday at Tennessee Tech.
The Bruins defeated Eastern Kentucky, 66-61, Thursday. Sophomore Caleb Chowbay (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) sparked a 20-3 second half run as Belmont overcame a 16-point deficit.
Chowbay tallied a season-high 10 points, while junior Craig Bradshaw (Ridgetop, Tenn.) recorded 25 points and 10 rebounds.
2014 graduates J.J. Mann of Belmont and Dennis Ogbe of Tennessee Tech were among 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award last year.
Belmont head coach Rick Byrd served as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech from 1980-83.
Belmont's Evan Bradds (Jamestown, Ohio) and Tennessee Tech's Charles Jackson both rank in the top five in the OVC in rebounding and field goal percentage in league games.
This marks the 15th meeting between Belmont and Tennessee Tech, and sixth in OVC play. Belmont won Jan. 31 in Nashville.
