NASHVILLE- Tenn. – Belmont Baseball (1-1) is set to host regional rival the WKU Hilltoppers tomorrow afternoon at Rose Park.
Belmont (1-1) opened up their season with a split-weekend against Wright State and Toledo. Due to inclement weather in the area, all other games have been postponed or cancelled for the Bruins. Sophomore Tyler Walsh (Evansville, Ind.) leads the team with a .625 batting average with 5 hits, 1 homerun and 3 RBI. Senior captain, Matt Beaty (Dresden, Tenn.) led in opening weekend against Toledo going 3-6 at the plate with a single, triple and grand slam recording 6 RBI. Starting on the mound for the Bruins tomorrow will be Right Hand Pitcher, Aaron Quillen (Kingsport, Tenn.) who joins the Bruins from Walters State CC. This will be Quillen's first start for the Bruins.
The WKU Hilltoppers (2-3) traveled this past weekend to Perfect Game Park, in Emerson, Ga., to take on the Evansville Purple Aces. The toppers took one win over the Aces and ended their weekend 1-3. Senior, Ryan Church leads the Hilltoppers with a .400 batting average. Church has recorded 8 hits and also leads the team with 9 RBI. Senior outfielder, Philip Diedrick is not far behind, batting .350 with a team high 2 homeruns and 8 RBI.

-This is the first of 2 games against WKU this season. Belmont will travel to Bowling Green, Ky next week (3/3) to conclude the home-and-home series.
