Ridge Harvey and
Shane Duke earned conference recognition following dominant performances against Indiana State.
Harvey was named MVC Pitcher of the Week, while Duke collected MVC Freshman of the Week honors.
Harvey delivered a dominant start in Belmont's 5-2 victory over the Sycamores on May 16, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out six batters to earn the win. The freshman right-hander consistently attacked the strike zone and limited Indiana State's offense throughout the afternoon, surrendering no extra-base hits and allowing only two walks across 74 pitches.
Harvey kept one of the Missouri Valley Conference's top offenses off balance from the opening inning and provided Belmont with a crucial performance in the final conference series of the regular season.
Duke also turned in the best outing of his collegiate career against Indiana State, working 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out six batters.
The freshman right-hander issued only one walk and held the Sycamores without any offensive momentum during his outing, showcasing poise and command in a pivotal conference matchup. Across 61 pitches, Duke consistently attacked hitters and helped Belmont remain in control throughout his appearance.
The pair played a major role in Belmont's strong weekend against Indiana State and highlighted the impact of Belmont's freshman pitching staff entering postseason play.
