RICHMOND, Ky. – The Belmont women's tennis team fell to Eastern Kentucky 5-2 in an OVC match played Saturday morning in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Colonels earned the first point of the match as they posted doubles wins at positions one and two. The match at number three was not completed.
In singles, EKU garnered wins at positions one, two, four, and six to clinch the 5-2 victory over the Bruins. Belmont did get two singles victories. At number three, junior Kendall Warren defeated Marina Marti 6-3, 7-5, while at number five, freshman Suzanna Stapler beat Melissa Gerritsen in three sets: 6-7, 6-4, 10-3.
Belmont (3-10, 0-3) returns to the court on Tuesday as they play at Lipscomb.
