NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Bruins (14-11) are set to host SIU Edwardsville (9-13) in a three game Ohio Valley Conference series starting on Thursday.
The Bruins now 14-11 enter the weekend series after two strong defensive outings. The Bruins have posted 51 runs on 48 hits in just the past two games with 17 total homeruns. After a record setting game against UT Martin on Sunday and a victory over Lipscomb on Tuesday, the Bruins are eager to return to the field. Matt Beaty (Dresden, Tenn.) continues to lead at the plate for the Bruins. Beaty currently ranks in the top five of three different NCAA categories, #1: RBIs per game (1.58), #4: Slugging percentage (.800), and #4: Doubles per game (0.54).
The Bruins as a team are in the top five of four different NCAA categories which include; #1: Home runs per game (1.56), #2: Doubles per game (2.72), #1 slugging percentage (.539), and #3: Scoring per game (8.5).
