NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Baseball is set to host the Eastern Illinois Panthers in a three game series starting on Friday at Rose Park.

Belmont: Aaron Quillen: Jr. RHP, 4.31 ERA, 4-2
EIU: Jake Johansmeier: Jr. RHP 7.27 ERA, 0-4
Sunday April 19th 1PM
Belmont: Tyler Vaughn: Fr. RHP 4.31 ERA, 3-1
EIU: Matt Wivinis R-Jr. RHP 6.35 ERA, 1-6
The Bruins (20-15, 9-5 OVC) enter the weekend after two strong mid-week wins. The Bruins traveled down the road to Vanderbilt with a 3-2 victory over the Commodores and traveled across the state on Wednesday for a 3-1 victory over the Memphis Tigers. Matt Beaty (Dresden, Tenn.) leads at the plate with .415 batting average. Beaty was integral in the victory over Vanderbilt on Tuesday with a lead off solo shot over the left field wall. His home run gave the Bruins their first lead and ultimately the win. Kyle Conger (Brentwood, Tenn.) is slowily moving up on the leader board at the plate with .348 batting average. Conger was a huge part in the Bruins win over Memphis on Wednesday. His three run home run was the deciding factor in the win over the Tigers.
The Panthers(5-26, 2-13 OVC) enter the weekend after a pair of mid-week wins. Leading at the plate for the Panthers is senior, Caleb Howell with a .355 batting average leading the team with 25 runs on 38 hits and is 6-7 on stolen bases this season. Not far behind and leading in multiple categories is Brant Valach abtting .339 with a team high 5 home runs, 12 doubles, and 39 hits.
