NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- The Bruins (36-24, 14-12 OVC) will travel to Middle Tennessee (29-22, 19-9 CUSA) today for a midweek contest. First pitch is scheduled for 6PM at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
The Bruins enter the week after dropping two to Tennessee Tech in conference play. Leading at the plate for the Bruins is Senior, Drew Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.), who is currently batting. .395 with a team hit 62 runs, 79 hits, 23 doubles, and 4 triples. Matt Beaty (Dresden, Tenn.) and Tyler Fullerton (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) each picked up another home run this weekend and are tied with a team high 11 home runs.
Aaron Quillen (Kingsport, Tenn.) picked up his fifth win this past weekend on the mound pitching a complete game. For his work on the mound he received OVC Co-pitcher of the week recognition. Matthew Kinney (Alpharetta, Ga.) leads on the mound with a 2.09 ERA and has taken his place as the Bruins closer. He has truck out 47 batters in 43 innings of work and holds batters faced to a .219 average.
Starting on the mound for the Bruins will be RHP Dom Veltri (Clarksville, Tenn.). Veltri is 2-3 with a 6.53 ERA. He has struck out 27 batters in 30 innings on the mound.
The Blue Raiders enter the weekend after similarly dropping two games to USTA. Ronnie Jebavy leads for the Blue Raiders in a few categories batting .344 he leads the team with 73 hits, 12 doubles, and 23 stolen bases. Starting on the mound for MTSU will be Garrett Ring. Ring is 1-2 with a 5.31 ERA, this will be his 15th start of the season.
