JACKSON, Tenn.—Belmont Baseball (29-27) advanced to day three of the Ohio Valley Baseball Conference Tournament after a 7-2 victory over the No. 1 seed Southeast Missouri on Thursday.
Next on slate for the Bruins is a 7PM night cap against Morehead State. The Bruins face the Morehead State Eagles Friday at The Ballpark in Jackson, Tenn.
Drew Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.) has gone seven for ten at the plate in the first two games of the tournament highlighted by a two run home run in Thursday's game against Southeast Missouri. The Bruins as a whole have been 8-8 in stolen bases in tournament play. Senior Dan Ludwig (Naperville, Ill.) will take the start on the mound for the Bruins. He will pick up his 16th start for the Bruins this season and looks to improve on his 4-5 record.
No. 2 Morehead State received a bye in the first round of the Tournament before picking up a 10 inning 4-3 victory over Tennessee Tech. Clayton Meyer, and Alex Stephens both went two for four at the plate in their game against Tech helping plate 3 of the four runs scored.
