The Club at Olde Stone proved to be a stern test on Monday, with only six players at par or better through 36 holes.
Belmont's 36-hole total of 605 trails team leader Eastern Kentucky heading into Tuesday's action.
Junior Noah Trenkler (Hendersonville, Tenn.) carded an afternoon round of even par 72 to lead the Bruins at six-over par 150. Sophomore Daniel Booker (Dyersburg, Tenn.) posted rounds of 76-75 to stand T-36.
Billy Tom Sargent of host Western Kentucky leads the medalist race at five-under par 139.
