BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team lost their third straight match as they fell to Western Kentucky 6-1 in a non-conference match held indoors Saturday at Brentwood Swim and Tennis Club in Brentwood.
The Hilltoppers took the early 1-0 lead as they swept all three doubles matches. In singles, WKU clinched the victory as they posted wins in five of the six singles matches. The lone Belmont win came at number six as senior Ann Lauren Fiepke outlasted Hallie Pennington in three sets: 2-6, 7-6, and 10-6.
The women's tennis team (2-5) takes a couple of weeks off before returning to the court on Friday, March 18 as they host Jacksonville State in their OVC opener at Centennial Sportsplex.
