HIXSON, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team swept Chattanooga 4-0 in a non-conference match held Saturday at The Racquet Club in Hixson, Tennessee.
The Bruins took the early 1-0 lead as they captured two of the three doubles matches. Junior Cedric Dujacquier and senior Robin Demasse beat Pablo Llebelli and John Peacey 6-0 at number one, while at number three, junior Bruno Russo and sophomore Caio Niel defeated Nick Wingord and Derrick Brown 6-4.
Belmont (4-0) clinched the 4-0 match victory by earning three wins in singles. At the number five position, Bruno Russo beat Pablo Llebelli in straight sets: 6-0, 6-4. BU increased their lead to 3-0 when freshman Zak Khan swept Derrick Brown 6-2, 6-1. The match was clinched when Dujacquier defeated John Peacey 6-0, 6-4.
The men's tennis team will be back in action next Saturday, February 13 as they play Lipscomb at Richland Country Club beginning at 6:00pm.
