NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team lost their second straight conference match as they fell to Tennessee State 5-1 in a match played Thursday afternoon at Hadley Park in Nashville.
In a match in which only singles were played, the Tigers posted wins in five of the six matches to clinch the victory over the visiting Bruins. Belmont's lone win at came at number three as sophomore Suzanna Stapler defeated Phoenix Gandy 6-0, 6-3.
Belmont (2-8, 0-2) returns to the court on Friday morning as they host Eastern Kentucky at 10:00am at Centennial Sportsplex.
