NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team fell to Eastern Kentucky 6-1 in an OVC match played Friday morning at Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville.
The Colonels won the first point of the match as they earned wins at number two and three doubles. BU did get a win at the number one position as junior Laura Van Eeckhoudt and senior Kendall Warren beat Laura Argente and Raquel Montalvo 6-3.
In singles, EKU posted wins in five of the six matches to clinch the 6-1 victory over the Bruins. Belmont's lone win in singles came at number two as Warren outlasted Viktorija Demcenkova in three sets: 4-6, 6-1, and 10-7.
The women's tennis team (2-9, 0-3) returns to action tomorrow as they host Morehead State. The match is set for 10:00am at Centennial Sportsplex.
