NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team wrapped up conference play with a 7-0 win over Tennessee State in an OVC match played Thursday at Hadley Park in Nashville.
The Bruins took the early 1-0 lead as they won two of the three doubles matches. At one, senior Robin Demasse and junior Cedric Dujacquier beat Daniel Bernal and Amir Daniel 6-4. Then at two, freshman Zak Khan and sophomore Stephen Goldman defeated Grant Maddox and Kyle Burton 6-4. TSU won the match at position three.
Belmont cruised to the 7-0 match victory as they swept all six singles matches. Dujacquier won at number one over Bernal 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. At two, Demasse outlasted Shashank Nautiyal in three sets: 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Then at three, Khan beat Jorge Rodriguez 6-2, 6-3.
Freshman Adam Rudowski was victorious at position four as he defeated Burton 1-6, 6-4, and 7-6. At five, Goldman swept Maddox 6-0, 6-0, while at six, junior Bruno Russo beat Daniel 6-0, 6-1.
Belmont (9-9, 5-4) is back in action tomorrow as they play their season finale at Louisville. The match is set for 9:00am CT.
