CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont men's tennis team saw their three-match win streak end on Saturday as they were edged by Austin Peay 4-3 in an OVC match played indoors in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Governors posted the first point of the match as they captured two of the three doubles matches. The Bruins did win at number three as junior Bruno Russo and freshman Adam Rudowski beat Chad Woodham and Alex Kartsonis 6-2.
In singles, Austin Peay earned victories at positions two, three, and four to clinch the match win over Belmont. The Bruins garnered wins at positions one, five, and six. At one, junior Cedric Dujacquier beat Aaron Jumonville in three sets: 6-2, 6-7 (10-5), and 7-6 (10-7). Sophomore Stephen Goldman won at five over Kartsonis 8-7, while at six, Russo defeated Woodham 8-5.
The men's tennis team (8-9, 4-4) has their final OVC match this Thursday as they play at Tennessee State on Thursday at 3:00pm.
