CHARLESTON, W. Va. – The Belmont men's golf team moved up a spot and finished in 12th place at the Joe Feaganes/Marshall Invitational held this week at the Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston, West Virginia.
The Bruins carded a team score of 283 in Tuesday's final round to finish in 12th place with a 54-hole mark of 878. Eastern Kentucky won the team title with a score of 833. Virginia Tech was second at 841, while Dayton was third at 843.
Sophomore Daniel Booker was the top finisher for Belmont. The Dyersburg, Tennessee product finished in a tie for 21st place at 213 (+1). He shot a one-over par 71 on Tuesday to finish 10 shots behind individual medalist Erik Lindwall of Eastern Kentucky.
Junior Noah Trenkler carded a team-low 70 in the final round to finish in a tie for 45th place at 221.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: freshman Nate Thomson (T-52, 223), junior Logan Matthews (T-65, 227), and freshman McCullough Pickens (T-72, 229).
Sophomore Parker Buck competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 76th place at 230.
The men's golf team returns to competition on September 26-27 at the Memphis Intercollegiate in Memphis, Tennessee.
