CORDOVA, Tenn. – The Belmont men's golf team finished in 10th place at the Memphis Intercollegiate held this week at Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tennessee.
On a bright, sunny fall day, the Bruins posted a final round team score of 297 to move up a spot from Monday's play and finish in 10th place at 918. Little Rock won the team title with a score of 895. Lipscomb was second at 897, while Central Arkansas finished third at 898.
Two Belmont golfers finished among the top-30. Sophomore Daniel Booker led the way for BU for the second straight tournament. He shot a two-over par 74 to finish the event in a tie for 25th place at 228. He finished 11 strokes behind individual medalist, Dawson Armstrong of Lipscomb.
Junior Noah Trenkler posted a team-low 72 (even par) on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 30th place with a mark of 229.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: freshman Nate Thomson (T-35, 230), junior Logan Matthews (T-52, 234), and sophomore Parker Buck (T-67, 240).
The men's golf team will take next week off before hitting the course again on October 10-11 at the Kenny Perry Invitational, hosted by Western Kentucky, in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
