NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont Men's Tennis battled to a tough finish to open the 2017 season on Sunday. The Bruins fell to neighboring Vanderbilt, 4-0.
After being edged in the doubles point, the Bruins began with a late rally in the second set of senior Cedric Dujacquier (Feluy, Belgium). However, he was held off 6-0, 7-6, by the 97th ranked player in the country, Daniel Valent.
Belmont returns to action next weekend, continuing its road trip to open the season. The Bruins stop at Xavier on Friday and at Dayton on Saturday.
