MURFREESBORO, Tenn -- Belmont Women's Tennis was unable to get a foothold in their second contest of the season over the weekend after a strong start to the 2017 campaign. The Bruins fell, 7-0, on the road at Middle Tennessee State.
BU fell in the doubles point before being held off in all of the singles positions. Newcomer Laura Kent (Kangaroo Valley, Australia) waged a valiant comeback effort in her second set at the No. 1 position but was held off, 6-2, 6-4.
Belmont returns to action on Friday, January 20, hosting Tulane. Match time is set for 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Sportsplex.
