NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball returns to game action Thursday at Southeast Missouri to open OVC play.
Belmont defeated Western Kentucky, 75-72, Dec. 19. Junior Dylan Windler (Indianapolis, Ind.) scored a game-high 19 points while senior Amanze Egekeze (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:04 remaining.
Windler scored a season-high 23 points in last season's victory over Southeast Missouri. He added four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots. He ranks among NCAA leaders in double-doubles, defensive rebounds and rebounds per game.
Former Belmont All-American Ian Clark ('13) and former Southeast Missouri standout Antonius Cleveland each spent time with the Golden State Warriors' organization. Clark was a member of the 2017 NBA Champion Warriors while Cleveland was signed by Golden State in the offseason and played for the G-League Santa Cruz Warriors. Clark is currently a member of the New Orleans Pelicans while Cleveland appeared in 13 games for the Dallas Mavericks this season.
Clark and Trevor Noack each scored 30 points in the game five seasons ago at the Curb Event Center - becoming the first teammates in the nation to score 30 or more points in the 2012-13 campaign.
This marks the sixth meeting between Belmont and Southeast Missouri. The Bruins won, 87-75, last season at the Curb Event Center.
